1972/4 Hess Tanker Truck

The biggest problem with this truck is that the cab is broken away from the trailer. This is not noticeable until you pick up the truck and it comes apart. But, if you plan on displaying the truck, it is not a big problem as long as no one trys to pick the truck up

There are no wires running from the trailer (battery compartment) to the front lights, so obviously the front lights do not work. But, the battery compartment is clean and the back lights work just fine. This means that if you are handy with a soldering gun, you could probably run some wires to the front and make all (4) lights work

The (2) Hess decals on the cab are in great shape, as are the (2) Hess decals on the trailer.
The Hess decal on the rear is flaking a little.
The "Fuel Oils" and "Gasoline" decals that are suppose to be on the side of the trailer are completely missing.

This truck has the round trailer feet which makes it a 1972 or a 1974.
It also has a 1/8" gap at the back end of the catwalk which some people say is a way to differenciate the 1972 from the 1974.

Overall, I would rate this truck a 6.0/10

The box would rate a 6.0/10 as well.
It definitely shows it share of wear.
It is pretty much intact, but has a bunch of creases, scuffs, fraying, water marks, ink marks, and minor tears.
The box comes with the bottom insert, but is missing the top insert.

This years truck did not come with a battery instruction card, so obviously there is no instruction card with this truck.
